The gesture: the essence of a·emotional light’s artistic creation.

A beam of light crosses the space, capturing thousands of anarchic dust particles in a static pose, trapped within the powerful performance of a lamp. A creation in which one perceives a trace, a heritage, the heraldic line of a gesture that mutates, from a pencil in frenetic movement to the expert hand that masters a material in its struggle for artistic creation.

At a·emotional light, the gesture is the essence that defines each of our creations. An action, a statement of intent that marks the first stroke of the designer and the last caress of the craftsman on the material. The gesture is the guiding thread that shapes our lamps; a process in which intuition and technique come together to create pieces that go beyond the decorative, turning them into objects that radiate soul and character.

The gesture as an expression of creativity and emotion

After installing his sculpture ‘The Spanish people have a road that leads to a star’ for the 1937 Paris International Exposition, Alberto Sánchez decided to remain in Paris until the full assembly was completed, taking specific care of the exhibition of the piece. His concern for the enhancement of the work was evident in his way of understanding and producing it, but above all in his attitude to life. An expanded vision in which other gestures are sought, other winks that link Alberto who, like another worker, constructed the devices of the pavilion in Paris, revealing that the gesture nests both in the work and in the artist.

The gesture in a·emotional light transcends the action to become an artistic manifesto, in which each movement has a purpose. The gesture of the designer, of Isaac Piñeiro, Héctor Serrano or the Cenlitros studio, among others, is the first act of creation. It is the moment when an abstract idea becomes a tangible design. Initial traces that become expressions of creativity and emotion, lines that contain the energy and purpose of their creator. The gesture, in this sense, is a language of its own, a form of non-verbal communication that conveys the essence of the design. In every curve, in every line, there is an intention, a decision that reflects the style and personality of the designer. Just as in gestural painting, where the stroke of the brush is not just a means to create an image, but a trace of the artist’s movement and emotion, in a·emotional light, each design is a capture of the creative moment, a reflection of the designer’s passion and vision.

Once the design has been conceived, the gesture passes into the hands of the craftsman, who, like Alberto Sánchez in Paris, gives form to the initial idea with materials such as metal mesh, glass or stone. Here, the gesture becomes a physical act, an intimate interaction between the creator and the material, thus establishing a dialogue between the creator’s intention and the intrinsic properties of the material.

The authenticity of the stroke

The value of the gesture in a·emotional light lies in its authenticity, which turns our lamps into unique and special pieces. The gesture of the designer and the craftsman become a signature, guaranteeing that each piece has its own history and character. For this reason, our lamps transcend mere functionality, the result of a creative process that respects tradition and celebrates innovation. From Galicia, where our ideas are born, a·emotional light’s lamps reflect the magic of the gestures that have created them, uniting the idea and the substance.
